Conferences in games against BCS OOC opponents
The table on this new page contains win-loss records, totals and percentages related to all of the out-of-conference games against BCS opponents grouped by all the conferences in FBS, including one that no longer exists. The amount of data that needed to be captured and tabulated to get these numbers was staggering. To give you an idea of the complexity of correctly identifying and recording applicable game results, a spreadsheet row for South Florida is below. As can be seen on another page recently added to BCS Central, the Bulls started FBS play as an independent in 2001, moved to Conference USA in 2003, and switched to the Big East Conference in 2005.
